Protein Bites

One of my favorite pre-workout snacks are these no-bake, protein packed balls! The recipe makes about 24 small, bite-sized balls, and each ball is about 70 calories with roughly 4 grams of protein, 8 grams of carbs, and less than 1 gram of sugar. See below for an adapted recipe originally from The Healthy Maven.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 scoops protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 T chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup smooth natural peanut butter (or any nut butter)*
  • 2 T agave (or honey)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-4 T almond milk (or milk, water etc...)
  1. Add oats, protein powder, cinnamon and chia seeds to a large bowl.
  2. Add in peanut butter, agave and vanilla extract. ...
  3. Slowly add in almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time and combine until it comes together in a sticky ball that holds together.
  4.  Roll into small balls on a baking tray and place into the refrigerator for an hour.
