BIG SUR

Camping in Big Sur, CA, has always been something I've wanted to do, and last weekend I finally had the chance to camp at one of the most beautiful campgrounds, Ventana Campgrounds. Sunlight through the trees, a creek flowing through our campsite, it almost felt like it was too good to be true. We walked around the campsite and stumbled upon the Ventana Inn & Spa. The restaurant architecture was beautiful, and the garden just outside the restaurant was like a fairytale. We enjoyed views of the mountains and trees while sitting in the rocking chairs and benches placed around the site. We watched the sunset and then headed back to our campsite, where we made a fire and cooked our dinner. Waking up the next morning to the sound of the flowing creek and, of course, the smell of bacon had to have been my favorite part. On our way home, we stopped at Nepenthe for lunch and a beer, then continued our journey back to San Luis Obispo. Check out the photos of our adventure, and if you get a chance to camp in Big Sur I highly suggest the Ventana Campgrounds!
